The Citroen C6 is a stand-out model, even if judged on looks
alone. It offers a somewhat quirky alternative to the ubiquitous
offerings of the German car manufacturing giants, adding a certain
element of 'je ne said quoi!' to its vehicle class. But this roomy
saloon isn't just about looks - in line with the C4 and C5, it also
offers a sublimely comfortable ride quality that you'll be
hard-pressed to find for the same price elsewhere.
The Citroen C6 range is a little limited but still manages to
offer some impressive options, with the smallest of the bunch - the
2.2ltr diesel - achieving 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds and offering a top
speed of 135mph. The 3.0litre V6 diesel is the engine that packs a
punch, achieving 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds and clawing a top speed of
143mph. As ever, a refined drive is order the day, and with the C6
you should expect next to no wind noise.
The C6 is a fantastic option for families and will make long
journeys a much more relaxed, comfortable affair for all passengers
thanks to electric seats, the palatial-scale cabin space in the
rear and 488 litres of storage space available in the boot. If
you're after a comfortable ride, are partial to a bit of quirky
design and want the pick of some substantially equipped trim
options, then the C6 may well be your first choice.
